New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 Street Style: Ombrés, logo tees and an Advanced Style muse outside the first day of shows | Hollywood yohana

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 Street Style

New York Fashion Week officially kicked off the Spring 2013 show season yesterday with a full day of fashion shows around town. As shows from BCBG Max Azria, Tadashi Shoji and home-grown label Kaelen took place inside Lincoln Center, our street style photographer extraordinaire Stefania Yarhi was busy snapping Advanced Style favourite Rita Hammer in her signature circular glasses, PR dynamo Kelly Cutrone in head-to-toe black and gussied up Nylon editor Michelle Reneau sporting new bangs. While the A-list scooted inside, Yarhi snapped an awesome gent in the most awesome red suit (the red hat!) and even a little baby fashion show attendee. (Diaper changes are the new street style shtick.)

Elsewhere, as shows by Costello Tagliapietra, Creatures of the Wind, Honor and Katie Gallagher took place at It-locales Milk Studios and the Standard Hotel, the rest of the New York Fashion Week street style savants showed up en masse. Many a slender gal rocked the ever-popular bright ombré (pepto pink and Kool-Aid blue are still going strong) as well as pop logo tees  (ahem, Wu-Tang Clan and Rocky Balboa) and loopy mixed prints. Also spotted? The sure-to-be the latest street style standard see-through and beaded Shourouk purse.

Fashion’s Night Out Street Style: 55 shots of Toronto’s most stylish parties and partygoers | Hollywood yohana

Fashion's Night Out Toronto Street Style

After years of anticipation, Fashion’s Night Out, the Vogue-backed citywide street party that began and expanded worldwide to include stops in London, Paris and even Sydney finally made its way to Canada’s fashion capitals, hitting Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal last night. As our editors attended events around Toronto, photographer Farzin Ghayour hit the pavement to shoot the street styles.
Beginning with Holt Renfrew’s 175th anniversary street party, Ghayour captured some of the most adorable and magenta-filled moments including limited edition sweatshirts being sold direct from the brand’s roadtripping truck, custom-designed magenta Diet Cokes being handed out, the crowd (including president Mark Derbyshire) watching a specially filmed tribute video featuring guest spots from Victoria Beckham, Donna Karan, Michael Kors and others.

Then it was a quick jaunt over to Hazelton Lanes’ MasterCard-sponsored soiree to watch the ladies get glammed up and then! Another stop! It was off to the BAZAAR, where local retailers like Rac Boutique, The Drake General Store and 69 Vintage held court. Later, Ghayour hit eLUXE’s celebration, where our very own online editor Randi Bergman was spinning. There was a photo boot, lots of candy, and lots of stylish folk all trying to fit on a tiny little couch.
