Kendall Jenner Takes a Cue From Katy Perry—And E.T. | yohana

Kendall Jenner, Katy Perry
Who knew E.T. had such an influence on fashionistas?
Kendall Jenner took a cue out of Katy Perry's playbook and dared to turn heads with a head-to-toe alien chic ensemble. Admittedly, the model sported this look at the Teen Choice Awards back in August, but she reminiscently reposted it on her Twitter page. The brunette beauty tagged it, "Kind of an old pic... but loved my hair here! #kray."

Kray (with a Kardashian "K," natch) is right! A skunk-stripe braid isn't the easiest of party hair to pull off, but we have to admit that we're digging the risk Kendall took! The out-of-this-world updo complemented the sharp, futuristic Aurelio Costarella frock, plus we know that Katy would be proud—the 'do looked straight out of the singer's "E.T." music video!
Now if only Drew Barrymore would jump on the extraterrestrial fashion bandwagon, everything would come full circle.

Which House Hottie Is Buried in an Avalanche of Cloth? | yohana

DUI
Gather round, chillun, and I will tell you a tale of how things were back in the old days. Back then, we were all alone in God's country, child, with just a log cabin between us and the fearsome Sioux. And the winters was fierce. And if your grandmother wanted coffee, she had to put on all three of her calico dresses and bundle up in her oilskin coat lined with the hide of a buffalo that your grandpappy done killed hisself with a fist full o' buckshot. And she had to walk uphill both ways just to get that coffee, child. And don't you ever done forget it.

Stop the Presses! Rooney Mara Breaks Dark Fashion Streak | yohana

Rooney Mara
Well, it appears as though Rooney Mara is finally getting out of her The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo funk. You know, black, high-drama dresses and severe hair and makeup? Believe it or not, miss thing used to sport brunette waves and girlie blush dresses way back when in, ahem, 2010.
After channeling Audrey Hepburn in a sweet Louis Vuitton LBD at the Paris premiere of her film, she showed up to the movie's Madrid debut last night in an off-white, black dotted silk chiffon Rodarte halter gown with waist-defining mesh bow. Lovely, right?
To Rooney's credit, her major image overhaul early last year, which included edgy couture and dark cropped hair, catapulted her into fashion superstardom (totes reminiscent of another "R"'s rise, namely Rihanna). This, in turn, enabled the pixie to carry her Rodarte dress with extreme class and elegance—a feat that definitely would not have been possible during her girl-next-door phase.
Glossy side-parted locks, neutral makeup and modest pose completed Rooney's surprisingly softer look.

Which Former Disney Princess Is Totally Slipping Up? | yohana

Kids! You may have questions about what's going on with all this cloth. We've risked our lives with several spelunking expeditions and have a final report for you. Our initial foray involved the Oprah jacket, which we've categorized as Totally Unnecessary. Our second safari unveiled what appears to be a slip; that's an ancient garment worn by women of the 1970s and 1980s so that people wouldn't see their skivvies. One of our more intrepid explorers is still analyzing the jewelry, but some mysteries simply weren't meant to be solved.

Multistripe Dresses Help Hide Post-Holiday Bulge | yohana

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kendra Wilkinson, Blake Lively
TREND: Multistripe dresses
WHO'S WEARING IT: Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett, Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively
HOW TO WEAR IT: Now that you are having post-holiday remorse over all those gingerbread cookies you ate, it's probably become a task to get dressed in the morning because you may be feeling all bulgy. Good news: We have taken notes from the stars and have found a way to disguise a food baby. Wear stripes! Now, you may think horizontal stripes are your worst enemy, but think again. They can actually work to your benefit. By picking a frock that has vertical and horizontal lines you can easily elongate the part of your bod you're a li'l insecure about, and enhance what you are proud of. Take Sarah Jessica Parker, as an example. She flaunted her chest area, but lengthened the bottom.

Would You Wear It? Gold Disco Ball Dresses | yohana

Tracy DiMarco Fergie
Dancing under a disco ball? We're down. But dressing like one? Yes, please! It takes a lot of confidence to wear an all-eyes-on-me dress, even on New Year's Eve, but Tracy DiMarco and Fergie were up for the challenge.
The Jerseylicious star donned a mini tube dress to host the NYE party at 46 Lounge in Totawa, New Jersey, while Fergie led her own shindig at at the Mirage's new 1 Oak nightclub in Las Vegas while wearing a knee-length Nicolas Jerban stunner. Both girls paired their frocks with metallic open-toe sandals, but only Tracy piled on the bling, including an armful of bangles and doorknocker earrings.

We're not going to rock this look to every party we have coming up, but we're big fans of shimmer for a fabulous occasion, and we're digging the gold hue over the typical silver mirror balls. That being said, we'd style it more like Fergie and let the dress be the focal point rather than forcing it to compete with tons of accessories. Bring on the shine!

Game On! Tia Mowry Celebrates a New Season in Sequins | yohana

Tia Mowry
New Year's Eve may be behind us, but every fashionista worth her AmEx card knows that's no reason to bury all of your fabulous sequins in the back of your closet—especially when a celebratory occasion is involved!
Striking a confident pose, Tia Mowry scored major points when she arrived at the recent premiere party for her show The Game at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel wearing a shimmery colorblock shift. A plethora of gold jewelry complemented her honey-hued ombré curls, while a pale pink lip and nude pumps followed her neutral frock's lead. The entire ensemble was as harmonious as it can get!

Although the dazzling dress was in a loose tank style, it still hugged the new mom's hot bod just enough to highlight her sexy cleavage and amazingly toned limbs.

Emmy Rossum Glams It Up—Old Hollywood Style | yohana

Emmy Rossum
Earlier this week, we saw Leona Lewis channeling a punk rock ballerina and Rooney Mara take style notes from Audrey Hepburn. So, it's safe to assume that the start of 2012 was all about dressing in theme. Even Emmy Rossum joined in on the fashion fun, by going all Old Hollywood glam on us last night at the Season 2 premiere of her show, Shameless, in L.A.
She sparkled in a silver Ralph Lauren Collection beaded dress that was teamed with a crystal-embellished clutch and matching strappy sandals. Even though she already shimmered enough, the gal wasn't afraid to adorn herself with vintage jewelry also by Ralph Lauren—c'mon who would say "no" to those gems!

To finalize her flapper-esque look, she styled her locks into marcel waves and sported a dark red pout. Emmy certainly started off the new year looking ultra fab!

Pinch us, because this can't be real: Diane Kruger was the victim of a rare red carpet miss. Rarely one to disappoint, the Inglorious Basterds star wore a Prada halter dress to the Critics' Choice Awards in Los Angeles. At first glance, we were enamored with the pale gray frock thanks to the pretty pops of unexpected summery yellows. But then we looked closer, and one other thing also stood out—her chest. >>>MORE: Vote for best dressed celeb at the CCAs We can't tell if Diane went sans bra or if the Grecian-inspired gown was simply too tight up top, but the silk fabric highlighted her boobs oddly. Their outline was the focal point of the dress, which had a lot of competition from the pointy spike pattern around her lady bits and the matching neon lipstick-Prada clutch combo. We actually love the dress in general, and the pops of pink were a gorgeous, surprising touch—we're solely confused by the execution. Since this is Diane we're talking about, we're sure she'll wow us the next time around—we hope! >>>PHOTOS: 2012 awards show misses * Diane Kruger * Elle Fanning * Elizabeth Olsen * Jessica Chastain * Lea Michele * Vanessa Hudgens * Ginnifer Goodwin * Lucy Hale * * * * * Print * Share * Link * Add your comment Categories: Fashion , 2012 critics choice awards , celebrity fashion , diane kruger , fashion dui , prada , awards Photo by: Jason Merritt/Getty Images Product Review: Kevin Murphy Color.Bug Today 2:00 PM PST by Staff Kevin Murphy Color Bug MIRACLE PRODUCT: Kevin Murphy Color.Bug ($24.95) THEY SAY: Switch up your hair color as quick as you change your makeup! Today 1:00 PM PST by Daisy Becerra Michelle Williams, Emma Stone, Charlize Theron, Kirsten Dunst, Melissa McCarthy, Stacy Keibler Earlier this week, celebs failed to impress at the People's Choice Awards, but they certainly brought their A-game last night at the Critics' Choice Awards, which took place in L.A. Like always, we saw an array of black dresses sashaying through the red carpet event. However, these weren't your ordinary, run-of-the-mill confections. While Kirsten Dunst sported an über cute Christian Dior dress that was adorned with bows, Charlize Theron went for a ruffled full-length gown by Azzedine Alaïa, which had the on-trend scallop-trim detail on the top. >>>GAWK: See this week's fashion highs and lows Although some gals chose to wear dark-toned creations, Michelle Williams and Stacy Keibler weren't afraid to go winter white. Granted, the My Week with Marilyn star's Chanel gown, which was teamed with Fred Leighton for Forevermark gems, did have a black bottom and sleeves. However, we couldn't help but notice that her number had classic Hollywood written all over it. On a sexier note, George Clooney's lady donned a fitted Giorgio Armani dress for the event. Even though most stars went for neutral tones, leave it to funnygals Emma Stone and Melissa McCarthy to rock color! As Emma light up the carpet in her green Jason Wu creation, Melissa was all smiles in her navy, sequin David Meister gown. Vote on your fave in the poll below. LeAnn Rimes, Maria Menounos, Kelly Rowland
TREND: Fur-trimmed boots
WHO'S WEARING IT: Kelly Rowland, Leann Rimes (Australia Luxe Collective) and Maria Menounos
HOW TO WEAR IT: The hit song about this particular breed of footwear may have come out circa 2007, but the fashion trend is still going strong among stylish celebs. In the dead of winter, a little fur trim not only looks fashion-forward, but also keeps your legs cozy. While the boots do look particularly fetching while on a ski trip like Leann, they're perfectly fitting for everyday too. We love how Maria paired hers with casual jeans, a top and a fun, printed scarf. However you style it, please leave your summer staples in the closet—Kelly's crop top and wintry shoe combo is sending mixed messages!
