Fashion Déjà Vu: Fergie's Fetish for Neon Accessories Returns | Hollywood yohana

Fergie
Fergie
The best way to pop an LBD is through your accessories. Fergie's preferred accessories just so happen to be neon. Would you expect anything less from the high-energy rock star?! Back in the summer, Mrs. Josh Duhamel attended a birthday bash in NYC wearing a simple sheath with a fluorescent yellow cuff and peep-toes, hot pink-accented clutch and bright orange nail polish. Then, at a Black Eyed Peas after-party recently (also in the Big Apple), the singer repeated the look with a Calvin Klein dress, lime pointy pumps and orange Jill Sander clutch.

Hayden Panettiere Foolishly Follows Eva Mendes | Hollywood yohana

Eva Mendes
Eva Mendes has that certain je ne sais quoi. From fringe to resort, she can make any dress look extremely elegant.
That was evident when she attended the Last Night premiere during the Tribeca Film Festival almost a year ago in a red '70s-inspired, silk chiffon Gucci dress. She looked absolutely breathtaking in the flowy number that featured a high-neck, blouson sleeves and cinched waist.

The actress let the fabulous frock take center stage by pairing it with a matching clutch and strappy nude Jimmy Choo platforms. She also played up its retro feel with oversized Van Cleef & Arpels studs and scarlet lip. Long, wavy locks complmented the design's natural movement.
The impeccable Eva in the dress, which can so easily appear costumey on the wrong person, would be a tough act to follow. Enter wrong person, er, Hayden Panettiere.

The Stars Bring on the Black Sequined Magic for the Oscars | Hollywood yohana

Anna Faris, Rose Byrne, Melissa Leo, Alexandra Edenborough, Melanie Griffith

TREND: Black sequined dresses
WHO'S WEARING IT: Anna Faris (Diane von Furstenberg), Rose Byrne (Vivienne Westwood), Melissa Leo (Reem Acra), Alexandra Edenborough and Melanie Griffith (Yves Saint Laurent)
HOW TO WEAR IT: Black is always a safe choice on the red carpet, but when you add sequins to the mix, that's when the magic happens! It's no wonder a plethora of stars shimmered in inky liquid-like dresses on Oscars night. The younger crowd was daring enough to dip their bods in full-length sparkle. Anna went disco-glam in a long-sleeve number. Rose and Alexandra chose more modern and feminine silhouettes—the former in a one-shoulder and the latter in a sweetheart strapless. If head-to-toe black glitz is too dramatic for you, follow Melissa's lead. She opted for a colorblock version with short sleeves that featured gold sparkle above the bust. The strategically placed lighter sequins brightened up her face. Her fellow fiftysomething peer Melanie, meanwhile, limited the flashy trend to a small portion of her gown. Her asymmetrical dress had subtle sequins on the bodice.

Which Leading Lady Got Dressed in the Dark? | Hollywood yohana

dui

This ageless actress has been a repeat offender on our Fashion DUI gallery because her outlandish style doesn't always translate to the masses. Not that she should really care what the peanut gallery says anyways, she's an Oscar-winning treasure. Regardless, she has a penchant for taking the most random, ill-matching pieces from a single designer and throwing them into one kindergarten collage of an ensemble. She defiled the Dolce & Gabbana fashion house when she decided to wear a floral sheath dress with a rose pink cardigan. This could have worked if the sleeves of the dress weren't tackily poking out beneath the cardi. She then lost even more style points when she accessorized with a leopard print handbag.

Alessandra Ambrosio & Kourtney Kardashian Rub Baby Bumps | Hollywood yohana

Alessandra Ambrosio, Kourtney Kardashian
Forget rubbing shoulders—Alessandra Ambrosio and Kourtney Kardashian rubbed bellies at the 20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood.
We wouldn't be surprised to hear that the two pregnant beauties had a gab sesh before the soiree, because their pale embellished column dresses are so similar!

The Victoria's Secret beauty chose a blush-hued Roberto Cavalli number that featured a thigh-high slit, ruched detailing at the waist and sequined accents. She kept her styling simple, leaving her hair down in loose waves and adding a little flush with maroon lips and cheeks.
The E! reality star, on the other hand, opted for winter white. She chose a long Raoul frock with a metallic neckline, which she paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. She also went for a slightly more glam vibe than her expectant pal, finishing off her look with a Cleopatra-esque smoky eye and high updo.

Emma Stone Takes Inspiration From the Bow-tiful Nicole Kidman | Hollywood yohana

Nicole Kidman
Emma Stone

Emma Stone took her cue from one of Tinseltown's favorite redheads when she showed up to the Oscars today wearing a scarlet Giambattista Valli high-neck gown with a dramatic shoulder bow: The bold design was a throwback to the iconic Balenciaga by Nicholas Ghesquiere number Nicole Kidman wore to the Academy Awards in 2007.

Unlike her predecessor, The Help's star pulled her beautiful ginger tresses back into a chic updo, so they wouldn't get lost in her matching dress. (Nic was blonde at the time, so she was able to balance the giant detail by wearing her golden locks to the other side.) Splashes of sparkle were all courtesy of Louis Vuitton.

Giuliana Stuns in White Tony Ward Couture Gown at the Oscars | Hollywood yohana

Giuliana Rancic

On Friday, we were fortunate enough to have some girl time with the one and only Giuliana Ranic at the W Hollywood, where she showed us pics of her three dress options for Tinseltown's biggest night. Suffice it to say, we were beyond thrilled that she went with the white Tony Ward couture gown as her main look. (She wore our other favorite—a white long-sleeve Basil Soda number in the vein of Florence Welch—for E!'s countdown show.)
Bill's better half looked absolutely breathtaking in the, quite literally, angelic dress. Unique Art Deco cap sleeves gave the appearance of wings! The design also featured intricately beaded tulle that went out into a fishtail skirt.

As she shared with us at the pre-Oscar cocktail party, G's religious use of DDF skincare products allowed her to skip foundation. Instead, she enhanced her natural beauty with a little copper shadow on the lids and an Old Hollywood scarlet lip. The babe finished off what was easily one of the best dresses on the red carpet with Palladium Jewelry by Jacob & Co. oversized flower studs and teardrop ring.
The trendsetter predicted that there would be a lot of ivory dresses at the Oscars when we caught up with her. She was right! Click in to see more standout ladies in white.

Shailene Woodley Goes Frumpy in Valentino Couture at the Oscars | Hollywood yohana

Shailene Woodley
Shailene, Shailene, Shailene. Girl, what are we going to do with you?
The young actress has been the darling of this awards season thanks to her turn in The Descendants, but her entrance at the 2012 Academy Awards proves that she's still got a lot of growing up to do.

Ms. Woodley has been ricocheting between hits and misses lately, and unforunately she steered towards the latter with this turn in a Valentino Couture dress that was far too old for her years. Between the off-white hue, long sleeves and grid cut-out bodice, we can't figure out what Shailene was thinking. If we were 20 and invited to the Oscars, we wouldn't want to turn up in a dress fit for a princess—who lived during the Elizabethan era.
Also, are those mini puff balls on the dress? Oy vey.
Shailene, you're gorgeous. You've got a body to die for. Stylists all across Hollywood want to dress you. So, we beg you, stop turning up to red carpet events in dresses grandmothers would swoon over. It's not often that we wish celebrities would show more skin, but please, flash a little leg.

Who Was Your Best Dressed at the Academy Awards? | Hollywood yohana

Emma Stone, Elie Kemper, Stacy Keibler, Michelle Williams
Giuliana Rancic, Milla Jovovich, Penelope Cruz, Angelina Jolie
Every awards season, there's the popular notion of saving your best designer dress for last—and these enchanting eight ladies certainly pulled out all of the stops for their highly anticipated date night with the lust-worthy Mr. Oscar.
Some caught our attention for oozing Old Hollywood charm, such as Milla Jovovich in a white asymmetrical Elie Saab gown and Penélope Cruz in a steel blue Giorgio Armani off-the-shoulder. Others simply blew us away, like Ellie Kemper in a copper Armani Privé column dress and Giuliana Rancic in an ivory Tony Ward couture number.

Then there were those who did what they do best. Michelle Williams, for one, stayed true to her love of vintage-inspired fashions. The blond pixie looked adorable in a red strapless Louis Vuitton peplum floor grazer, which was accentuated with a sparkly bow brooch. At the other side of the unique style spectrum was Angeline Jolie. We still can't get over her vertical pap smear sexy stance in her black velvet Atelier Versace stunner with thigh-high slit.

Celebs Make Us Blush at the Academy Awards | Hollywood yohana

Penelope Anne Miller, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Melissa McCarthy, Kate Mara

TREND: Blush dresses
WHO'S WEARING IT: Penelope Ann Miller (Badgley Mischka), Wendi McLendon-Covey, Melissa McCarthy (Marina Rinaldi) and Kate Mara (Jack Guisso Couture)
HOW TO WEAR IT: Stars were thinking pink at the Oscars! These lovely ladies turned up to the awards show in candy-like confections, with the vibe ranging from super girly to ultra-feminine. Wendi's princess-like tulle gown and Kate's beaded floral number were sweet as can be, while Penelope's sequined halter dress and Melissa's embellished frock screamed sophistication. All of the dresses are gorgeous, and all four girls help emphasize one very important factor: The hue is key. Finding the right shade for your skin tone will make the difference between the dress blending in to your bod or standing out on its own. With looks this frothy, keep accessories light and airy to play up the ethereal vibe.

Amber Valletta’s Wedges Makes Hearts Go Pitter-Patter | Hollywood yohana

Amber Valletta

Shoes can take an outfit go from looking OK to making everyone gasp, "OMG". And this was the case with Amber Valletta when she attended the 14th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills last week. The Revenge actress wore a red Roland Mouret sheath that was simple, but still chic. Overall, the dress was nothing out of the ordinary.

However, after giving her ensemble a second look, we were floored by the fab footwear she sported. Her black Louis Vuitton peep-toe heels seriously looked unreal. We are so used to wedges having a chunky heel, but these looked oh-so luxurious, due to the gold metal. Seriously, these shoes are jewelry for your feet!

Since her kicks were already enough bling, the blonde smartly skipped wearing gems all together. The only thing she needed to finalize her look was a good ol' swipe of red lipstick and having her tresses styled in a chic low bun.

Glamo's Best and Worst Dressed Stars from the Oscars | Hollywood yohana

Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Rooney Mara, Sandra Bullock, Kristen Wiig
The Glam Factory's stylist always has an opinion when it comes to fashion. So, he made sure he was in town for Hollywood's biggest night, so that he could see up close and personal which A-listers dressed to impress—and which ones didn't! Up first, Glamo's worst dressed.
5. Melissa McCarthy: Too much too fast. Over use of fabric and materials. The decision needed to be made on empire waist embellishment OR neckline detailing. Together, they ruined the look.
4. Maya Rudolph: Although the jewel tone color was just gorge. I couldn't tell if the gladiator trend was going to kill us all. She looked like an exiled gladiator. I was left asking...is this funny woman pulling a funny on us?!?!
3. Rooney Mara: As much as I love the House the Givenchy, I did not love Ms. Mara in Givenchy. If she were on the runway, then I could maybe be a little more forgiving, but her dress was very ill-fitted and not flattering of a model-esque look alike.
2. Sandra Bullock: She left me feeling like she was not happy to be at the Oscars with her dress choice. While two-toned black and white is on trend—so is a proper fit. Looks like someone missed their fittings during the week!
1. Kristen Wiig: The Bridesmaids star in J. Mendel was, by far, a turn-and-look away moment. Flesh tones can be a gift or a curse. In this case, it was a severe curse! This dress totally matched her skin, and left me feeling like she was pulling a disappearing act on us. Hey! Where'd she go? Oh, OK, just to the top of the worst dress list.

Miley Channels Old Hollywood Glam at Oscar Parties | Hollywood yohana

Miley Cyrus
For any time we've ever written that Miley Cyrus showed too much boob, leg, arm or really any body part, please forgive us. Not only did the lovely lady cover up for last night's 20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood, she looked striking doing so.

We're well aware that just yesterday we pointed out that 20-year-old Shailene Woodley dressed too old for her age in an off-white Valentino Couture frock for the Oscars, but Miley's Roberto Cavalli gown is on an entirely different level. The floral embroidery, beading and chiffon skirt are intricate and gorgeous, and the gray hue is unexpected.
Could the 19-year-old have opted for something a bit younger or outrageous? Of course she could have. But then that'd be any other day of the week—this was the Elton John fête she was attending! Plus, she ended up at the Vanity Fair party later in the night, which meant the truly needed to be doubly as striking.
Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth

Not only were we enamored by the dress, but her styling was also exquisite. Playing up her new short hair, Miley opted for old Hollywood glam waves and a red lip. She finished off the already dramatic look with equally glam diamond-shaped earrings.  But we have to admit that her best accessory at all was boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.
Both the dress and the evening proved to be a success, with the singer tweeting, "Thank you, Sir Elton John for such a lovely night! Now to Vanity Fair. I love all the glitz and glam of the Oscars and celebrating such talent!"

Our Favorite Beauty Looks from the Oscars | Hollywood yohana

Oscar Faces
Of course everyone spent a lot of time staring at all the gorgeous designer gowns that were everywhere you looked at the Oscars, but we decided to pay some special attention to the diversity of beauty looks on the red carpet. From bright colors to natural tones, we saw every type of beauty routine, and what better place to take notes than at the most anticipated celebrity event of the year.

Angelina Jolie went for the same glamazon look she sported at the Golden Globes, rocking a  fierce red lip and heavy lashes with gorgeous blown out curls. The colorful lip and dark eyes gave her an instantly bold look, and she definitely exuded a lot of sultriness as she strutted down the carpet. Another bold look came from Viola Davis who made a loud statement by sporting her real hair to the Oscars. She admitted that she has always worn wigs at events but decided tonight she would let her natural beauty shine through. The mahogany tint she added complemented her glowing skin flawlessly in addition to the dark liner and glossy lips.

Gywneth Paltrow went for minimalist and natural makeup touches, wearing a nude lip and little eye makeup. Her impeccable skin made this look work for her, and this combined with her white gown gave her an angelic vibe. We especially loved the slick ponytail that doubled as an imitation bob when viewed from the front. Finally, we noticed that cutesy actress Emma Stone hopped on the winged eyeliner trend, deciding to wear the daring look with pink lips and a slicked back bun.

Classic Diamond Chokers Make a Comeback at the Oscars | Hollywood yohana

Cameron Diaz, Michelle Williams, Penelope Cruz
TREND: Diamond choker necklaces
WHO'S WEARING IT: Cameron Diaz (Tiffany & Co.), Michelle Williams (Fred Leighton for Forevermark) and Penélope Cruz (Chopard)
HOW TO WEAR IT: The Oscars is known to have a bevy of actresses sporting beautiful gown—and gems galore! However, this year, celebs decided to opt for simple and classic jewelry. Cameron and Michelle teamed their strapless frocks with diamond chockers. Penélope also took a cue from the blond babes and paired her off-the-shoulder number with a sparkler. This truly is the perfect jewel because it gives just the right amount of glitz to the look, and it doesn't take attention away from the gown! So the next time you have a shindig to attend, don't forget that sometimes less is more.

Taylor Swift Lifts Off (Her Makeup) From LAX | Hollywood yohana

Taylor Swift

Celebrated country crooner Taylor Swift was seen arriving at LAX yesterday completely makeup free. (You actually mean some celebrities are people too and don't show up to the airport dressed for the runway like our girl crush Victoria Beckham?) It was refreshing to witness one of our favorite singing sensations working the natural look and see how fresh-faced the Covergirl spokesmodel manages to be without the help of layers of bronzer and eye shadow. She styled her hair in a simple over-the-shoulder braid and smartly let some loose strands frame her face.

T. Swift may not dress to the nines when she flies but she still gets our jet-setter nod of approval. She went for an effortless retro-chic look, sporting a button-shoulder, maroon and white stripped sweater with camel corduroy pants. The Lorax voice actress tied the casual ensemble together with rather spiffy, wing-tipped saddle shoes. And of course, she wouldn't be a true musician if she didn't
