And here’s a twist: a curated selection from the line, which will debut in Target stores and on Target.com February 9, will also be available on luxe shopping site Net-a-Porter.

“Since Peter Pilotto is a British brand, it was really important to their team that some pieces from the line be available internationally,” a rep from Net-a-Porter told StyleCaster at the press preview. “It should be exciting to see how it does, especially since we fully expect it to sell out on Target.com.”

our Guide To Every Celebrity in Spring 2014 Fashion Campaigns - Fashion And Mode

The end of winter may seem like a long way off, but the Spring/Summer 2014 ad campaigns have already started trickling in. With faces ranging from pop superstars to award winning screenwriters, designers seem to be turning away from models and looking to celebrities to represent them this season.

So who has debuted the biggest campaign so far? Emerging ‘It’ girl Lupita Nyong’o starred alongside Elle Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen for Miu Miu, John Varvatos turned to legendary rock and roll band KISS, the Miley Cyrus for Marc Jacobs campaign caused quite the controversy, and Lady Gaga channeled her inner Donatella for Versace.

The Best of Stella McCartney’s Punk-Inspired Pre-Fall 2014 Collection - Fashion And Mode

You might expect Stella McCartney to host her Pre-Fall 2014 presentation at some seriously stylish and chic London locale amongst a group of A-list rock stars—and she did just that, with one minor alteration: she hosted such a soirĂ©e stateside. Inside New York’s super-private Harold Pratt House, the U.K. designer showed her latest collection, which she also shared shots of via her Instagram. Like this one, where the designer can be seen embracing legendary punk rocker Patti Smith:

The collection, Stella also shared on Instagram, is inspired by her older sister, Heather, who was also a punk rocker in her own right. The first daughter of Paul McCartney, Heather was adopted into the family and spent her teenage years in the London punk scene. Stella took inspiration from Heather’s androgynous, minimalistic style for the collection, which also featured her trademark love for bold patterns and heavy fabrications. And yes, there are fabulous bags and shoes a-plenty!

Meet the H&M Design Awards Finalists - Fashion And Mode

Three years ago, H&M launched its Design Awards program, a way to support emerging designers and give fresh faces a high-profile platform. Conceived as a sort of “Project Runway” without the glitz and glam of a TV crew, the competition pits young designers against one another in a search for the most talented newcomers. Today, eight finalists were chosen from more than 30 schools in 12 countries, and only one student from Parsons—Jia Hua—made it through from the U.S.
MORE: The H&M Collaboration No One Is Talking About

The finalists are: Eddy Anemian, a student at La Cambre in Brussels; Chinese-born Jia Hua from Parsons in New York City; Canadian Devon Halfnight Leflufy, who is a graduate of the Royal Academy in Antwerp; Xiao Li, who is a Chinese graduate of London’s Royal College of Art; Lina Michal, a Swedish graduate of Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm; Sophie Sälekari, a Finnish student at the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture in Helsinki; Henriette Tilanuas, a Dutch graduate of the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem; and Camilla BlasĂ© Woodman, a student at the Royal College of Art in London.

The winner—which will be announced on January 28—will receive a cash prize of $50,000 euros (around $68,000), and the opportunity to show their collection at Mercedes-Benz Stockholm Fashion Week.

The lucky finalists will have their collections appraised by a judging panel that includes designer Erdem Moralioglu, actress Michelle Dockery, style star Michelle Harper, British Vogue executive fashion editor Serena Hood, Vogue Italy senior fashion editor Sara Maino, Johansson and H&M’s creative advisor Margareta van den Bosc.

Last year’s top pick was Minju Kim whose girly, feminine creations were produced at H&M and also sold at Opening Ceremony. Pieces from this year’s winner will also be sold at select stores.

The Costume Institute Has Been Renamed the Anna Wintour Costume Center - Fashion and Mode

They say once your name gets afixed to a building, you’ve really made it; and in that case, Anna Wintour just made it big-time. The organization formerly known as The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art—the locale for the annual fashion circus that is the Met Gala—will be renamed after the Vogue editor-in-chief. Its new nomenclature: the Anna Wintour Costume Center.
MORE: Anna Wintour Courting Kanye West?!

“Anna Wintour’s extraordinary advocacy and fundraising have made this state-of-the-art space a reality,” Musem Chairman Daniel Brodsky said in a release.  “She has the rare ability to rally diverse groups across a wide range of industries to support The Costume Institute so it can educate and inspire visitors from around the world.”
MORE: See Two Style Icons in Graffiti

From what we can gather from the release, the building is being named after Wintour more as a result of her financial contributions to the organization than anything else. She’s been a trustee of the Met since 1999, and in that 15-year span, according to the release, “she has raised approximately $125 million for The Costume Institute.” The new Costume Center will open May 8 with the glamorous “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” exhibit, just a few days after the Gala.

There is a bright tunnel at the end of this slightly perturbing news: as part of the Institute’s refurbishing, there will also be a wing called the Carl and Iris Barrel Apfel Gallery, named after one of our favorite style icons. As for whether or not the new designation of the building in Wintour’s name is a due honor, we might remain mum and just let this GIF do all the talking.

PETA’s Worst Nightmare: Fendi’s Menswear Runway Was Made of Goat Fur - Fashion and Mode

Here’s something everyone already knows: Fendi, as a brand, is obsessed with fur. In both men’s and women’s wear collections, over the course of fashion history, the Italian house has bowed down at the altar of the animal skins on everything from their coats to their bags to even their gloves—and let’s not forget those little fur buggies that are all the rage at the moment—but at their Fall 2014 menswear show in Milan yesterday, they took it to a whole new level.
MORE: Fendi Spring 2014: See The Collection

The runway was made of goat fur. Let’s say it again, all together: the runway was made of goat fur. More specifically, as WWD put it in their coverage, the male models stomped down the runway on “an endless carpet of long-haired goat fur,” and most of them were wearing plenty of fur to go along with it, which just meant it was a smattering of fur on fur on fur. In other words: PETA’s worst nightmare.

Lena Dunham’s Vogue Cover Is Here - Fashion And Mode

It’s finally here! After months of rumors, Lena Dunham’s Vogue cover is out!

We suspected a deal had been forged when Vogue’s Anna Wintour showed up at the season three premiere of Dunham’s “Girls” last week, but we also think it’s a bit surprising, considering how many red carpet misses Dunham’s had. Just the other day, she made a number of Worst Dressed lists for the yellow Zac Posen gown she wore to the Golden Globes.

Whether you love her fashion choices or not, though, you can’t deny that she’s a huge force to be reckoned with—and  one that we love to watch.

The cover, interestingly, features a close up shot of Dunham, rather than a full-body photo of the notoriously nudity-friendly actress. Was Wintour shy about putting a full-figured woman on the cover? It’ll be interesting to see if that fact causes a stir the way Mindy Kaling‘s Elle cover did last week.

The inside spread, however, features a full-body shot of Dunham posing gloriously with her “Girls” boyfriend Adam Driver.

Kanye West Lunched With Anna Wintour - Fashion And Mode

A lot is happening in the world of Vogue. After plenty of rumors suggesting it would happen, Lena Dunham was announced as the fashion magazine’s latest cover star—and she’s probably not the only questionably stylish celebrity we’ll see fronting the book soon. Kanye West and Anna Wintour had an intensely long lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s Polo Lounge, according to Page Six.
MORE: The Costume Institute Named After Wintour

And by “intense,” we mean that Kanye drove most of the chat. “They were in a corner booth, very intense. He was talking nonstop. She did not get a word in edgewise,” the source tells Page Six. And we have one probably spot-on guess as to what they were talking about: the long-rumored possibility of getting Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue.
MORE: Anna Wintour Canceled Miley Cyrus’ Vogue Cover

Let’s just put it out there: Vogue is definitely looking to nab new, more modern readers, as evidenced by its celebrity cover stars (and rumored cover stars.) Ten years ago, Vogue would never have dreamed of featuring a Kardashian—or even a Lena Dunham or a Miley Cyrus, for that matter—and now, it’s become the status quo. At its inception, the magazine featured exclusively models on the cover, and its goal was to deliver high-fashion news and trends to a mass audience.

We absolutely understand the economic need to reach a younger, celebrity-obsessed audience, but we won’t lie: if we see Kim Kardashian on the cover, we do think the high-fashion fans the magazine does have will be none too pleased.

All The Looks From Chanel’s Haute Couture Collection - Fashion And Mode

Haute Couture Week has officially kicked off, and Chanel’s runway show was, as always, a highlight. Held at the Grand Palais in Paris, the shimmering silver room, complete with two parallel staircases, and a 12-piece orchestra led by French musician, Sebastien Tellier set the tone for what was one incredible show.

As the music began, models descended down the staircases in a spectacle of iridescent gowns, sheer two-pieces, beautiful button down jackets, metallic kneepads, and some very cool sneakers. The metallic eye makeup and spiked hairdos added a punk vibe to the dreamy collection.

At the end of the show, Karl Lagerfeld emerged to take his bow, accompanied by the bride (model-of-the-moment, Cara Delevingne) and a young ring bearer, Lagerfeld’s godson, Hudson Koening. The elaborately embroidered column gown worn by Delevigne was the icing on top of a spectacular show.

Fashion Tips and Tricks Every Girl Should Step 90-101

When it comes to fashion and style, it sometimes seems that everyone and their mother (literally!) have tried-and-true tips and tricks they absolutely swear by. Some are useful, while others … well, not so much. With that in mind, we’ve culled 101 of the best from the best: designers, lifestyle experts and, of course, our staff. Trust us: With these gems, you’ll be well on your way to living your most stylish life.

101. Despite what it says on the tag, cashmere is best washed by hand. To dry it, use a salad spinner, which releases excess water in seconds.

100. Use white wine to remove red wine stains.

99. Wash new jeans twice before taking them to the tailor. Why? Because jeans will always shrink in length when washed.

98. To stop angora or mohair from shedding, fold the garment and place it into a zip-top bag and freeze it for at least three hours.

97. Remove odors from vintage or thrift clothing by spritzing them with a mixture of one part vodka, two parts water.

96. “Remove white deodorant marks from a garment by gently rubbing the protective foam used on hangers against the fabric.” — Jonathan Simkhai, designer

95. If you get an oil stain on your favorite handbag, coat the mark with baby powder and let it stand overnight. By morning, the stain should be gone. If a bit still remains, repeat the process until the stain is completely gone.

94. The best at-home method to keep diamonds sparkling: liquid dishwasher detergent and an old toothbrush.

93. The secret to well-fitting everyday clothes is Lycra. The formulas to look for: 95% cotton/5% Lycra spandex for T-shirts, and at least 2% Lycra for jeans to hold their shape.

92. “Always organize your clothes going light to dark from left to right in your closet. Your eye will follow the color and thus help you stay organized.” — Melanie Charlton Fascitelli, Founder, Clos-ette and Clos-ette Too.

90. Wondering about the quality of your cashmere? Gently stretch the body of the garment to see if it snaps back. A lower-quality cashmere won’t.
