Celebs Go Green—and Purple! | yohana

Julianna Marguiles, Debra Messing, Jenna Dewan
TREND: Purple-and-green combo
WHO'S WEARING IT: Julianna Margulies (Naeem Khan dress), Debra Messing (Lorraine Schwartz) and Jenna Dewan (Maria Lucia Hohan dress; Irene Neuwirth earrings)

HOW TO WEAR IT: The colorblock craze was everywhere this summer. However, the trend of pairing unexpected colors together is still a must-do. At the Golden Globes, Jenna and Julianna teamed their dresses with bright-hued earrings. While one went with a plum gown and emerald earrings, the other went for purple danglers and a green dress. The easiest way to approach this look is with one jewelry piece that already has both colors. Debra is the best example. She amped up her black gown with purple-and-green earrings.

Kate Bosworth | yohana

Kate Bosworth
We joined Kate Bosworth at the Soho House in L.A. for the launch of JewelMint's monthly fashion film series, which will showcase that month's jewelry collection. (Take a look at the first video here!) Afterward, we chatted with the actress, who gave us the scoop on her favorite fashions.
WHAT SHE'S STYLIN': Today, I felt like wearing Altuzarra who's incredibly talented—obviously, he won the CFDA Fashion Fund. I also have on three white Casablanca necklaces from JewelMint wrapped around my neck. This purse I have is also from JewelMint. It comes in this bronze color and silver, which will be available in April. You can even take off the straps and wrap them around your wrist or neck and carry the bag as a clutch.
GEMS GALORE: I decided to be a part of JewelMint because Cher Coulter and I noticed that we lacked everyday pieces. So we thought, "Why is that?" And much of it is because the price point for jewelry is quite high—it's expensive! I want girls to feel that JewelMint is a collection that they'll love, have to have and want to have, but I also want them to feel like they aren't breaking the bank.
FASHION PHILOSOPHY: My style depends on my mood. I feel comfortable being classic, but I also love to explore different looks,  and that is often dictated by my mood.
STREET CHIC: I am really liking the boy-meets-girl look. At the moment, my everyday go-to look is a pair of jeans and a buttoned-up collared shirt with a neat blazer.
DESIGNER DUDS: Some brands I love are Christopher Kane, Altuzarra and Vanessa Bruno—I work with her a lot.
PIN ME: I don't have a favorite type of jewelry. However, we have been making a lot of pins at the moment with JewelMint, so I'm excited about that trend right now.
BEAUTY ESSENTIAL: Aquaphor's Baby To-Go is very good for the lips, especially during the winter. It's like the cure-all. But, overall, I'm pretty simple with my regime!

Who Was Your Worst Dressed at the Golden Globes? | yohana

Zooey Deschanel, Piper Perabo, Madonna, Amanda Peet, Callie Thorne, Busy Phillips
After the fashion disaster known as the People's Choice Awards, we were glad that the stars made it a tough for us to pick a worst dressed celeb at the Golden Globes. Tough, but not impossible.
The red carpet was flooded with neutral gowns, from the fringed one-shoulder Temperley London dress that Busy Philipps' mismatched with a Barbarella 'do to Amanda Peet's lacy Marc Jacobs frock that veered dangerously into wedding cake territory. In a theory of contrasts we still don't understand, Piper Perabo managed to show us too much leg and boob in a voluminous, tent-like sheer Theyskens' Theory gown.

Callie Thorne tried to add in some color with a mint Albert Ferretti dress, but the scattered sequins were better suited for a prom. Best Original Song winner Madonna didn't take home any trophies for her weave basket Reem Acra gown—even a healthy dose of glitter couldn't save the art project. The always quirky Zooey Deschanel also went for a couture DIY vibe, but the neon green and black beaded custom Prada dress didn't feel right for the Globes, especially with the heavy eye makeup and thick bangs. While none were downright awful, we can't say that we'd want to rock any of these six looks any time soon.

Minka Kelly is Anything But Mellow Yellow in Oscar de la Renta | yohana

Minka Kelly
Sometimes the only way to brighten up a winter day is with a healthy dose of neon. To that we say, "Well played, Minka Kelly."
The 31-year-old stole the show at The Art of Elysium's 5th Annual Heaven Gala in Los Angeles when she flaunted her fab style in a chartreuse Oscar de la Renta gown.

We love the chiffon dress' faux-wrap bodice, which perfectly hugs Minka's curves and looks great against her olive skin tone. She paired the bold number with a gold-and-jade ring and drop earrings from Tiffany & Co., matching shell clutch and thin bracelet. A mauve makeup pallette and loose Mermaid-like waves finished off a look that brought a little bit of summer to a cold January day.
Between the sunny hue and her recently rekindled relationship with Derek Jeter, we get why that smile is so wide. But she wasn't the only one who was bright eyed over the weekend—keep reading to see who else went mellow yellow.

Jenna Dewan | yohana

Jenna Dewan
Prior to attending the Golden Globes with actor-hubby Channing Tatum (sorry, Jenna, but swoon!), the TV and film star gave us a peek at her personal style at the Wella Beauty Bar, held at the Nine Zero One Salon in West Hollywood. During the retreat, VIPs indulged in braids and blowouts, Fake Bake spray tan and Bio-Oil massages.
WHAT SHE'S STYLIN': I'm wearing a Tolani blouse. I love the print! I also have on MIH Jeans and Topshop shoes.
FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I like things that are comfy, sexy and a little flirty. I either go toward the romantic, fairy-like, mystical sort of clothing or stay with edgy, sexy outfits.
PAMPER ME!: Today, I'm getting a manicure, pedicure and braid. I like to have fun with polish. I did bright green recently. I loved it and had it on forever. But for my dress tomorrow, I'm going to keep it classic and simple today.
ON HER GLOBES DRESS: The [Maria Lucia Hohan] gown that I'm going to wear on the red carpet is elegant, romantic and simple. The color is beautiful. I love color!
COORDINATING FOR THE CARPET:
[Channing and I] just pick what we like and, generally, it matches up in some sort of way, but we don't put too much thought into it. It should be
fun and if it's not fun, you shouldn't do it.
SOCKS WITH SANDALS: Never tried it! I know I said I would. I don't know if I just didn't get a chance to or if I couldn't figure out how to, but I stayed away from that one

Jenna Dewan, Golden Globes

FAVORITE TREND: I'm really into colored jeans right now. I probably have a pair in every single color of the rainbow!
STYLE ADVICE: Coco Chanel said to take one thing off before you leave your house. I've always felt that way. I love to push the boundaries and try new trends, but I always go back to the "less is more" idea with accessories. Classic and simple is always best. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't try a really funky dress or a really funky pair of pants or weird hair. I'm constantly in the salon changing my hair every two weeks so I love trying new things.
IT'S IN THE BAG!: I love this Valentino bag I'm carrying! I wear it every day. It goes with everything. It's very classic. It's one of those pieces that I'll probably hand down to my children later on in life. It's just a good investment piece.
BEAUTY REGIMEN: I love Sonya Dakar's Omega Oil. I use it every day. It gives me that dewy glow that I love. I have dry skin, so I love anything that combats dry skin. I use a lot of rich creams and oils. I cannot travel without Josie Maran's Argan Oil. That's the most amazing product.
FAIRY OBSESSION: I collect fairies! They're all over my house. I love fairy sculptures. People give me fairy presents. I have a beautiful rose garden with little fairies I put in there. I'm very, very mystical. Everyone knows I love them. I have one that I've had forever that's in my bathroom, but I love every one. Channing accepts my fairy obsession. He loves me, so it comes with the territory.

Rachel Bilson Keeps the Feather-Adorned Dress Trend Alive! | yohana

Sarah Jessica Parker, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lopez
Rachel Bilson
Rachel Bilson attended the Art of Elysium gala held this week in LA., and we were über impressed by another one of her chic outfits. However, this time it was a red carpet-worthy frock by Chanel. Seriously, her mint dress with feather details just made our heart beat a li'l faster. Like Sarah Jessica Parker, the Hart of Dixie star teamed her winning look with pointed-toe kicks, but her champagne, satin heels were by Casadei.

Kirsten Dunst & Elle Fanning Celebrate Rodarte in Sunny Yellow | yohana

 Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning
Like rays of sunshine, Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning illuminated Hollywood's dimly lit Chateau Marmont with shades of yellow for a dinner fêting their beloved Rodarte.

Kirsten flaunted her usual edge and whimsy with a lemon bright Stella McCartney tuxedo blazer, white button-down shirt and high-waisted Rodarte brocade cropped pants. She added a touch of bumble bee with a black clutch.

She hobnobbed with Dakota's fashionable 13-year-old sis, whose dress just so happened to complement Kirsten's ensemble. Kudos to the style gods! The young actress wore a beautiful goldenrod pleated peasant frock by the designer that featured blocks of vivid floral and swirl prints.
The blondes have such similar tastes—and it looks like Elle has Kirsten's blessing! In fact, we'd call Elle "Kirsten's mini-me" if weren't for the fact that Elle looks slightly taller!

Amanda Righetti | yohana

Amanda Righetti
The star of The Mentalist gave us a peek at her personal style during GBK's Golden Globes gift lounge at the L'Emirtage in Beverly Hills. The actress walked away with goodies from Crizal no-glare lenses (pictured), RevitaLash Advanced, SnapSac, Tweezerman and TC Intimates.
WHAT SHE'S STYLIN': My shirt is from Arcade, my shoes are Christian Louboutin and my jewelry is by Leslie Green.
STAR GAZING: I love watching the red carpet in general, just to see the celebs' take and their style. Hair and the makeup is what I really look forward to though. I tend to like the more elegant hairstyles, but also ones that are just very complementary toward the face. I like to know what's trendy and what's going on with beauty. With hair, I'm really liking the messy curls swept to the side. I'm into that look a lot right now and I also like really natural makeup.
BEAUTY MUST-HAVES: I have to have my Dior lip balm in my purse when I'm at an event. I love Dior stuff. I also must have blotters. I actually prefer to carry blotters over powder just because it's less bulk and once you apply powder, I just feel like I don't want to keep reapplying it. Those are always really easy and convenient to have.
FASHION OBSESSION: These shoes! These Louboutins. They're really high! They're really amazing, but I have to be careful when I walk because the spikes hit my ankles. It's painful! I really like edgy shoes. It can really funk up a dress or outfit. I really like the romantic, flowy blouses and things like that, so it's always fun to have a really edgy piece to pair with it—just to make it really funky and different.
COVETED COLLECTION: I have a collection of Prada shoes. I don't know what it is about Prada. Their shoes are really comfortable to me. The way they break into my feet, they just form to my feet really well. They're beautiful. They're beautifully made. I have a few favorite pairs, but I have a very simple black pump from Prada that is my go-to pair and I can wear them for eight hours and be totally fine, and not feel like I have to take my shoes off.
COLOR HER STYLISH: I love purple. I love the way it goes with my hair and my eye color. It's a good pop of color for me. Green is good, too, but purple...I don't know what it is. I love the really dark plum purples.

Would You Wear It? Heel-Less Shoes | yohana

LeAnn Rimes, Nichole Scherzinger, Lucy Hale, Shoes
Known around the office as WTF shoes, the heel-less shoe appears to be catching on among the celebrity set. Now there are ankle twisters, and then there are ankle breakers. We'll go ahead and put these shoes squarely in the latter category. To be able to walk in these wonders you would have to memorize every word of Glamo's Guide to Walking in Heels, and then we still might bet against you.
Of course it's possible the eyes deceive us. They do say the wider platform base is wide enough to balance. Not to mention, a large following of celebs managed to not eat it on the red carpet in the physics-defying footwear. Lucy Hale was an early adopter, when she wore her Giuseppe Zanottis to the Teen Choice Awards in August. Nicole Scherzinger followed suit in October in a funky tribal pair, and then Leann Rimes jumped on the bandwagon last in her cut-out Alexander McQueens at a Trevor Project benefit in December. Podiatrists across the world are either wringing their hands or seeing dollar signs, because it seems these shoes are sticking around for a while.
