Who Was Your Best Dressed at the Essence Luncheon? | Hollywood yohana

Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Paula Patton, Kerry Washington
At the 5th Annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood luncheon last night, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, a bevy of actresses rocked winter white outfits.
Emma Stone made her Elie Saab confection her focal point by teaming the frock with nude accessories, including Brian Atwood peep-toe pumps and a clutch. However, Van Cleef & Arpels gems gave the outfit the right amount of sparkle. Following in the Easy A star's footsteps, Viola Davis paired her simple yet chic Victoria Beckham dress with go-to black Salvatore Ferragamo pumps and a slew of gold bracelets.

On a brighter note, Kerry Washington, who isn't afraid of taking fashion risks, opted for a peplum dress by Cushnie et Ochs, which she teamed with look-at-me red Brian Atwood pumps and a matching pout. However, what caught our eye the most was the stunning multicolored Kate Spade clutch— bag envy, indeed!

Like Kerry, Paula Patton also amped up her white Marchesa number by sporting a rouge pucker. And her silver Giuseppe Zanotti heels went perfectly with the metallic trim on the bustline.

Lastly, Academy Awards nominee Octavia Spencer went a tad casual by teaming a white button-down with a custom-made gray leopard-print Tadashi Shoji skirt and purple kickers.
Needless to say, all the gals looked great and we can't wait to see what show-stopping gowns they'll be wearing at the Oscars!

Which Actress Neglected Her Style, But Enhanced Her Lips? | Hollywood yohana

DUI

Even though the actress' career is on a hiatus right now, she definitely dressed the part of a bad girl, which isn't a stretch for this notoriously troubled star. Although wearing all-black is usually a safe and chic choice, the blond babe definitely managed to destroy these two notions. Her overall look was too morbid and, well, had nothing special going on. Perhaps, the gal wanted to make everyone's eyes focus in on her newest investment—her seriously overly enhanced pout. C'mon, hon, we are rooting for you to finally get it together!

Malin Akerman Looks Marvelous in Asymmetric J. Mendel Dress | Hollywood yohana

Malin Akerman
We're all about experimenting with fashion, but we have a big problem with dresses that look like a science project! Even though split-personality dresses (the ones that look like two completely different designs were sewn together) often look bizarre, they keep turning up on the red carpet.

The latest style maven to flaunt a borderline Frankenstein frock is Malin Akerman. She attended the "Vanities" 20th anniversary party in Los Angeles earlier this week in a J.Mendel long-sleeve number that was two-thirds printed LWD and one-third LBD. Surprisingly, we don't hate it.
The split-personality effect was thankfully subtle, and a rather avant-garde way to rock the asymmetric look.

Kristin Chenoweth Squeezes Two Looks Out of Bandage Dress | Hollywood yohana

NY Fashion Week, Kristin Chenoweth

Kristin Chenoweth

When you love a dress (and it looks sensational on you), why wouldn't you want to wear it over and over again? Well, that was exactly what Kristin Chenoweth must have been thinking when she attended the Late Show with David Letterman show in NYC rocking the same black-and-gray Hervér Léger bandage.

The Broadway star first donned this frock for the designer's fall 2012 collection during New York Fashion Week. That day, the blonde stood out in the cap-sleeve number that she teamed with dove-gray pumps.
Then, exactly 12 days later she re-wore the exact same outfit—shoes and all! The only changes she made were sporting sunnies, a pendant necklace and carrying the cutest eye candy ever—her white puppy!
Not only do we love that she had the guts to sport this ensemble again, but by doing so she was also helping out good ol' Mother Nature. Double props, Kristin!

Chloë Moretz Loves All Colors of the Rainbow—On Her Hair! | Hollywood yohana

Chloe Moretz

We can always count on teenagers to give the latest and greatest trends a try, and Chloë Moretz is no exception. The Hugo star is the most recent star to jump on the colored hair bandwagon when she hit the 14th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards held at The Beverly Hilton hotel earlier this week.

Instead on dipping her ends in dye, or her whole set of locks for that matter, the actress gave her strands some rainbow hues. She had a one part purple, one part orange ‘do, which also had some noticeable pink traces.
It seems like the gal has been taking notes from Selena Gomez's hairstylist because the fellow teenybopper has sported a similar multicolored tresses. Although we love her golden mane, we think this 'do is the perfect way to liven up during this hectic award season!

Gwyneth Paltrow Honors Oscar Nominees at Women In Film Party | Hollywood yohana

Gwyneth Paltrow

The Academy Awards are merely hours away. However, the journey to this star-studded event is filled with pre-Oscar parties. And on Friday, we had the honor of attending the 5th Annual Women In Film shindig that was held at Cecconi's in West Hollywood—and was hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow, who wore a plunging black Boy. by Band of Outsiders jumpsuit!
The soiree, which was sponsored by MaxMara and M·A·C Cosmetics, honored all the 2012 female Oscar nominees. So, of course, many of the ladies were in attendance. We're talking gals like Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain. And to show there support to their peers Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez and Shailene Woodley were also present.
As guests sipped on Perrier-Jouët bubbly, Gwyn took the stage alongside WIF president Cathy Schulman and congratulated all the women saying, "Even the nomination is a huge win. Congratulations, to all of you." However, she lightened the mood by joking, "[Women] are smarter and better than men!"
At the end of the night, the invitees left with gift bags provided by M·A·C that contained a selection of products curated by Oscar nominated artist Amanda Knight—Academy Award-approved goodies, yes, please! After seeing the gals look stunning firsthand, we can't wait to see what look-at-me gowns they'll be donning for tonight.

Wendi McLendon-Covey | Hollywood yohana

Wendi McLendon-Covey

Before she graced the Oscars red carpet, the Bridesmaids star gave us a peek at her personal style at the GBK Celebrity Lounge in honor of the Academy Awards, where the actress walked away with luxurious Vani-T beauty products, stunning Made In Earth jewelry, scent-sational Milena's Boutique candles and Julep polish and nail care.
WHAT SHE'S STYLIN': This is Diane von Furstenberg. My shoes are Guess. I love a nude shoe. I have to wear heels, because I have Oscars rehearsal in 45 minutes!
FASHION PHILOSOPHY: At my age, I really have to stick to a classic style. I try to not look like I'm trying at all—like everything just sort of came together without any effort. That's what I go for. Now, I don't know if I give off that impression all of the time, but that's my intention!
HER MUSE: I look up to the beautiful Sophia Loren.
RED CARPET GLAMOUR: I really, really love the green, so I've done a lot of green this awards season. I have tried to mix it up and do other things. What I think looks good, doesn't necessarily photograph well. I'm kind of learning by trial and error. Basically, I try to stick to dresses that are not too ornate, because I can make that look very tacky.

Emma Stone Takes Inspiration from the Bow-tiful Nicole Kidman | Hollywod yohana

Nicole Kidman
Emma Stone

Emma Stone took her cue from one of Tinseltown's original redheads when she showed up to the Oscars today wearing a scarlet Giambattista Valli high-neck gown with big red bow. The bold design was a throwback to the iconic Balenciaga by Nicholas Ghesquiere number Nicole Kidman wore to the Annual Academy Awards in 2007.

Unlike her predecessor, The Help star pulled back her beautiful ginger tresses back into a chic updo, so that they wouldn't get lost in her matching dress. (Nic was blonde at the time, so she was able to balance the giant neck detail by wearing her golden locks to the other side.) Splashes of sparkle were all courtesy of Louis Vuitton.
