The Fashion Design Council of Canada has announced a new location for Spring 2010 Toronto Fashion Week: King West. The FDCC cites the growth of the event as the reason for the move to the site of the former Downtown Plymouth Chrysler Dealership. Says FDCC president Robin Kay: “The event has grown significantly and we are exhilarated by the opportunity to expand the space and allow for more participating designers, audiences and to keep our runway to the world totally fresh and current.” The two-acre site will have a larger runway area, a window into the backstage beauty room and 15,000 square foot networking area, which we assume means the bar. Among the new names at the tents this season are Halifax’s Katrina Tuttle and Project Runway Canada Season2 runner-up Jessica Biffi. We’re excited to see Pat McDonagh back after a few seasons away from the tents, but noticed that Joeffer Caoc is missing from the list of usual Fweek suspects.
