It's One Bright Family Affair at Betsey Johnson | Hollywood yohana
Betsey Johnson may be known for her eccentric designs, but she's still one down-to-earth diva. Don't believe us? You should, since the wild designer made her fall 2012 runway show a family affair, bringing her daughter Lulu and granddaughter Layla up on stage with her.
But Lulu didn't just join Betsey for the finale—she was one of the show's models, too! Keeping in line with the heavy dose of pink Betsey presented, Lulu showed off a satin full-length frock that would make Barbie jealous. Little Layla got in on the action, too, looking up proudly at mom while sporting her very own floral tutu.
As if we didn't think it was cute enough that three gererations of Johnsons walked the runway, we were completely enamored by Betsey's show overall. The collection was one giant love note to the 1960s, with models showing off colored fur, knee-high boots, bright plaid separates, gold lamé dresses and Lennon-inspired round sunglasses to a soundtrack that included the Beatles and Dusty Springfield.
While everything from a skull-emblazoned sweaterdress to neon pink and black-striped tights screamed Bestey, the true icing on the cupcakes came from the designer herself. Decked out in a sequined scoopneck top, long metallic shorts and furry kicks, the 69-year-old blonde delighted attendees with her signature cartwheel moves before a bevy of cheerleading models marched down the runway in silver mini-skirts and pom-poms.
And that is why we love Betsey Johnson—and want the entire nearly 50-piece fall collection all for ourselves.
