Jeremy Scott Makes Bart Simpson High Fashion | Hollywood yohana
Pardon our excitement, but after seeing Jeremy Scott's insane runway show, the '80s kid in us started digging out our slap bracelets, trapper keepers and Rainbow Brite VHS tapes. That was harder than it sounds, since we were also simultaneously doing somersaults—and no longer own VHS players.
We expected to see unapologetically loud, brash numbers in his fall 2012 presentation, and Jeremy delivered with a collection that was the equivalent of throwing Lisa Frank, The Simpsons, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and Yo Gabba Gabba! together in a blender.
There were rainbow pieces galore, from a lurex coatdress and furry jacket to a striped maxi and printed jumpsuit. Then came a runway debut from Bart Simpson—that's right, Bart Simpson—on everything from sweaters to thigh-high leg warmers. But the greatest item of all? A black one-shoulder unitard with a unicorn attached to it! After our shock wore off, we were just in plain awe.
Of course, models weren't just dressed like cartoon characters—they were styled like them too. Frizzy mutli-colored clown wigs were teamed with bright blue lipstick, and some lucky ladies even got to carry neon stuffed animals down the runway.
It was the brightest, most ridiculous runway show we saw all week—and we loved every second of it.
