Wicked Fit, Markus
Markus Ricci isn't just Katie Boyd's personal assistant on Wicked Fit—he's also a trainer, ladies' man and advice guru. Find out what he has to say about his boss, dating and being a pageant dude.
RIGHT-HAND MAN: The best part about being Katie's personal assistant is that I get to observe how she handles her business and approaches training. Being around a lot of beautiful girls doesn't hurt either.
(WO)MAN'S WORLD: The girls can be very opinionated and sometimes deliver too much information that a guy neither needs nor wants to know. For the most part, though, I really get along with them. They are my older sisters. I learn a lot about how a woman thinks, responds to certain issues or reacts when guys act the way they do—it's the next best thing to being in a girl's head.
WORK FLIRT: I like how Monique can be brutally honest and upfront with her feelings, but sometimes it can become too much. Deep down, she's a good, empathetic person, but we're just friends—and I intend on keeping it that way.
PAGEANT KING: Competing in Mister USA was a very cool experience, but I was disappointed that I received runner-up. I was voted Mr. Internet and Best in Swimwear during the 2008 USA pageant. I met interesting people, gained public speaking experience and accomplished something new. I am a firm believer that everyone should take advantage of opportunities and take risks, because that's when we learn the most about ourselves.
SIMPLY FIT: I try to eat healthy most of the time, and I make sure that I bust my ass in the gym four to five days a week. Feeling healthy is both rejuvenating and motivating. People just need to realize that consistency and intensity are all they need to improve their lives.
DATING ADVICE: I'll see a great guy go up to a girl and ask them out, and the girl will act disinterested and annoyed because the guy is too kind. Then I hear the same women complain that their boyfriend is an apathetic jerk. It's hard to get the best of both worlds. Some guys can bring both to a relationship, but girls should have realistic expectations and understand that there are always good and bad components to personality traits.
KNOW THIS: In a lot of situations, when a girl thinks she's being smart by "playing the game," she's really just creating a space for the guy to move on. People can argue that if a guy is really interested in a girl, he'll be patient, but if a girl likes a guy, she wouldn't be playing games in the first place.
